Madhya Pradesh is one of India's largest states with over 50 districts. Its maternal and child health and nutrition outcomes however rank among the poorest in the country. Through the Akshita program, we are committed to working closely with the state on these issues. The state has a large tribal belt necessitating tailoring of interventions to suit the local context.
We are currently working in five focus districts in Madhya Pradesh to tailor and implement our interventions so as to build evidence for state-wide scale-up through the government. The program encompasses a combination of supply-side and demand-side interventions.
