Role Objective:

The Antara Foundation is working towards Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition in select districts of MP. The program is aimed at improving Maternal Child Health and Nutrition indicators. One of the key interventions is the facility enhancement and capacity building of the ANMs and staff nurse posted at the designated delivery points for pre-and post-delivery and newborn care. It also includes capacity building of the frontline workers (ANMs, ASHAs and AWWs) based on the 1000 days construct (For example–ANCs, HRP identification and management, immunization, growth monitoring etc.) We invite public health and development sector professionals to be part of this endeavor.

Duty Station:

To be based in one of TAF’s intervention districts in MP (currently positions open in Seoni, Khargone, Betul, Morena, Damoh)


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct knowledge assessment of the ANMs and staff nurses posted at the designated delivery points and frontline workers based on the 1000 days construct.
  • Develop training and capacity development modules.
  • Conduct trainings of the ANMs and staff nurses posted at the designated delivery points on pre-and post-delivery and newborn care and frontline workers based on the 1000 days construct (like ANCs, HRPs, Home based Newborn care, Immunization, Growth monitoring, etc.)
  • Plan and implement on-site mentoring to the ANMs and staff nurses posted at the designated delivery points and frontline workers (ANMs, ASHAs and AWWs) based on the knowledge assessment.
  • Conduct capacity building sessions in the sector and block meetings.
  • Maintain and analyze data and plan field visits accordingly.
  • Update regularly on the government protocols and guidelines.
  • Build capacities of the program staff on key MCHN issues.
  • Perform any other task as and when assigned by the organization.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BSc/MSc Nursing from a recognized institute and registered with a competent authority.
  • At least 2-3 years work experience in training and mentoring on the MCHN themes.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data.
  • Ability to present information in a structured and insightful manner.
  • Excellent skills in oral and written communications in Hindi and preferably in English
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player in a complex, multicultural environment, with demonstrated leadership, communication, networking, and presentation capabilities.
